The Effects of Video Self-Modeling on Motor Skill Performance in Adolescents With Asperger Syndrome

Abstract
Objectives: This study investigated the effects of video self-modeling on motor skill performance in adolescents with Asperger syndrome.

Methods: A single-subject A-B-A' and alternating treatments experimental research design was used to determine the effects of video self-modeling. Three adolescents diagnosed with Asperger syndrome participated was evaluated. Participants¡¯ motor skill performance was recorded during each session, and COPM were assessed before and after the video self-modeling phase. The data were analyzed visually using graphs.

Results: The results were as follows. After the video self-modeling intervention sessions, motor performance time decreased, while performance quality, total COPM score increased.

Conclusion: This study showed that video self-modeling enhanced motor performance skill in adolescents with Asperger syndrome.
